Medical Technologist
Administrative:
• Assist In the preparation of the monthly performance report, reagent/supplies consumption and other reports needed in the assigned section of responsibility.
• Responsible to oversee the efficient filling and keeping the results in the assigned section.
• Assists the section head in the evaluation of new machine, method and procedures base on actual demonstration of prospective of other companies.
• Helps in the maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory.
• Responsible for the performance of the responsibility of medical technologist on duty when the latter goes on leave or is absent but under supervision or presence of an MT.
• Performs all other related works that will be assigned to him in the exigency of the service.
• Helps in procuring and receiving the supplies and reagents for the laboratory as well as making sure that they are evaluated to be in good quality .
• Receives and record the data of incoming patients.
• Works on overtime when the need arises.
Technical:
• Acts as a phlebotomist.
• Collects, process and handles blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper preparation prior to collection.
• Sterilize instruments and the materials in the laboratory.
• Transporting the specimen from the reception area to the sections concerned while observing the basic principles for infection control.
• Do the encoding of the results.
• Performs different routine and special examination/procedure in any section in the laboratory.
• Monitors proper processing, handling and storage of specimen.
• Troubleshooting machines and equipment in the laboratory in case product engineer is not available in the soonest time possible.
• Preparing specimen that are to be sent out to referral and reference laboratory.
Qualifications
• Registered Medical Technologist.
• Can Handle pressure .
• Computer Literate.
• Trustworthy, detail-Oriented and self-motivated.
